Starlite Motel! I grew up just a few miles away from this… she was knocked over by a microburst a few years ago and the owners have been trying to raise the money to get her properly repaired ever since. They’ve been displaying pieces at local malls to try to drum up interest. It was cool to see her up close (each lady is huge! about the length of a large storefront), but I hope I see the sign back, all lit up, on Main Street again someday.

which was probably my favorite things about growing up there. I have missed it the past few years
They’ve been trying to raise the money for her repair (to the tune of $63,000), but I haven’t heard anything in a while. I hope she returns someday.
